Welcome

Let’s learn on snow days!

Operation Snow School, known statewide as non-traditional instruction, is Knox County Public Schools’ response to the large number of cancellations that occur annually due to inclement weather.

Non-traditional instruction (NTI) simply allows for the continuation of learning when students miss days of school.   We don’t use NTI every time we cancel school.  When we do declare a NTI day, students will have the opportunity for skill reinforcement, remediation and enrichment through electronic or conventional paper lessons that extends what they would have been in learning in school that day.

Is today a NTI / Operation Snow School Day?

We have created a chart for the 2018-2019 school year that lets you track which days were NTI days and when the assignment is due for those days:

NTI Day #

 NTI Day #1
